Default US TM 5-261 K sought

Dear all,

I am happy to PAY money for a good quality scan or photocopy of this but would obviously like an original in the end.

Any leads gratefully received, I am not very good at hunting on the internet for these things and it is likely out there, I hope.

Thanks in advance

Hello, Robin !

You can try here:

http://www.militarymodelling.com/for...p?th=63881&p=4

The registration is needed though.
See the message from Chris Weiss member there, in lower part of page 4. This his message is from December 16, 2013, but, I feel sure, it is quite short time period gone from that date.
And, probably, some other participants of that discussion are able to help, even today.

Dear Eduard,

I have been in contact with Chris, he has sent me some images from the manual he has but they were by text mage so I am trying to improve that.

He is the only other lunatic on this side of the the Atlantic who has any interest in this stuff.

There is a gentleman from the UK "Old Git" who is into Bailey bridge training kits.

It is a fairly small group of 3 in an esoteric sub group of our hobby.

Regards

Robin

Everyone has their own niche in our hobby...
Lucky for me I think that I just missed out on the Bailey bridge that was for sale locally... The missus is pretty flexible but not sure what she would have thought of a 6 section Bailey in our yard with no river or ditch for miles.
Still on my list though. There is another locally that one day will be replaced with a modern bridge.

Was that the one on the east side of the trans Canada at a construction yard painted white?

We saw it this summer but similar domestic opinions reigned here.

What were they asking for it?

Believe thats the one Robin.
I was speaking with the missus about this this evening and she asked why it is not in out yard already. Sheesh, just when I thought I knew her.
From what I understand, it sold for next to nothing. Shipping the components was more than the bridge itself.
I would have been happy with only a couple sections of it.

I think there is one in use about 25 minutes north of me. I drove over it while bait harvesting down an unassumed cottage road.

So, in this case, possibly, is the reason to ask the Library of the University of Illinois ? They have, for example, the following book (note their print on front cover):

Online: 200 pages long so be prepared to add paper and an inkjet to your printer.

Yes, this "265" manual is for real bridge. But I have placed this image to give You the direction of search.
Also, You can try to ask "Your" manual in Your local Library - possibly, they could get it (or it's copy) via Interlibrary Exchange System, from some other Library, which could have this book.

Taking into consideration Your "too specific", "unique" and "too narrow" interest, this way could be only one possible way for this search.

To update this thread I received a copy of the manual from the Canadian Engineer museum curator. I donated to the museum as a way of saying thank you. I owe Terry Warner a debt of gratitude for being the puppet master on that.

I'm glad you found a copy.
It's never a good sign when the only Google result is your request for information on MLU....

Here is a link to a google nook on training aids, and includes a section on the various bridge models.

https://books.google.ca/books?id=YRK...bridge&f=false

Quite an interesting book. I have some of the double size weapon training aids, which are mentioned in this manual as well.
