Lorne Scots
I'm looking for a Lorne Scots WW2 cap badge with tartan backing, shoulder titles or tartan strips (whichever is correct) and pair of 2nd Div div patches if anyone can help.
This is to complete ensemble to go with 1942 Jeep being restored as HQ 4th Inf Brigade of 2nd Inf Div 1944 - Lorne Scots were Ground Defence Platoon of 4th Brigade. |

http://www.army.dnd.ca/lorne_scots/c...egt_Nesltr.doc And another on ebay:- http://cgi.ebay.com/Lorne-Scots-cap-...QQcmdZViewItem There are photographs of the Ancient Campbell of Argyll tartan on:- http://www.tartanstore.net/multisearch.html?id=f6xCY5r4 Paul. |

Lorne Scots
Thanks for links Paul. I checked ebay for badges and have got the shoulder flashes. I'm tracking the badge that you pointed out. Is the Ancient Campbell of Argyll the correct tartan - do you have references to this being backing for Lorne Scots?
Thanks, Barry |

Re:- Tartan
I found a reference to the tartan on:-
http://www.network54.com/Forum/28173...+behind+badges The photos wont open for me for some reason, but there seems to be a list of different badges for the Regiment on:- http://web.archive.org/web/200008190...hat_badges.htm Along with some resonable history on:- http://www.regiments.org/regiments/n...f/936lorne.htm The tartan shown is the modern one. Paul. |
