I also have 28421M40750 ENGINE # PR3,835,432 [MELBOURNE-ASSEMBLED] but am not sure if that is a correct transcription?

Note also in the previous posting that some engines had WR and PR prefixes. 1942 'PR' engines tended to be C60S and C60L units, and 1942 'WR' engines the rest, on further study. I have long suspected that the prefix letter indicates modifications, but if anyone can confirm I shall be vey interested.
