I'd hazard a guess at a Cab 13 F15.

Nice obscure find of a background shot by the way!

Default Mail truck

Only just background, this former Trucks, Wireless Signals (Aust).

Interesting to note that with Australian disposals in the 50s the Authorities had first dibs on ex-military vehicles.

Yes, it's my way of recovering from jet lag, having arrived home around 1.30AM the morning before.

Default Italy

I found this photo in my Dad's photo album. He worked on aircraft radar in North Africa and finally Italy where this one was taken circa late 44-45.

This is on epay at the moment and of course the vehicle is a Ford No2 Ambulance (Aust), ARN 62938 I think...

Here's another for when the epay one runs out.

And here's a link to the Epay page.

Default Another couple of F15s

These ones belong to 3 Squadron RAAF and are seen here in Italy. The second one in particular is a classic 'in the background' scenario.

Default What is it...?

What is the white "T" in the lead men's face and the officer's face...?

Are they wearing some kind of disposable cellophane goggles...?

I tried enlarging but can't make it out.....

Default On closer look.....

Could have the pictures been alterated by "censors"........??

....enlargement of the truck shows that both sides of the engine cover unit markings have been white painted and arenot a second set of headlights....

Could they have disfigured the lead men to prevent recognition of the soldiers..?? and if so why just the front two.....

Bob
