Who is this? A quiz for the Aussies.
Who's this little ray of sunshine?
Do you need any clues?

Hugh Thompson's daughter, Jan?
Only a guess based on the colour of the Blitz behind her! |

Full marks, Tony!
Yes, it is indeed Jan Thompson and that's her father's blitz.
Small wonder she's now the arranger (along with John Hedges and others) for the largest MV event in Australia. Are you coming to see the Carriers, Tony?

You Aussie Buggers
What have you done to my Karmen? She's been eating Vegemite all afternoon and is now ripping the place to shreds... worse than a cat on catnip!
Keefy, is this the cute blonde on YOTB? If so, she was certainly brought up properly...

There's quite a few "2nd Generation" MV enthusiasts in our club who have grown up around these vehicles (literally!). We've recently come across a stack of old club magazines (from 25 years ago)and almost as interesting as guessing "Who's that man with a full head of hair?", is trying to guess "Who's that little boy in the Scout Car who was recently in an executive position on the committee?". We are thinking of running a couple of these old pics from our magazine to see if any of the members can spot themselves from 25 years ago.

Yes, that is the same Jan in Year of the Blitz. A very capable person, and she knows her trucks, too. More Year of the Blitz pics here.

It is worrying that I have belonged to the MV club (MVCG now MVT) in England for about 28 years now and it is much the same when you look back at old photos. While at Corowa in 2001, one of the NSW club members put on a slide show of when the Aussies invaded Europe for the Normandy tours in the early '80's, they were all youngsters then! I was able to pick out some of our members ( the Pommies ) and say, he's gone now, or he is as bald as a coot, and so on......... There is one thing for sure, Jan has not changed a bit Richard |

"Half Safe"
Hi Tony
Now that was an incredible field trip. Perhaps, whilst waiting for the weekly train to Lithgow you could precis the story for the amazement of our fellow MLUers. Bob |
