Chev 1 1/2 ton winch conversion
Hi group
A friend of mine has a 1 1/2 ton Chev G7107 ( without winch)and wanting to convert it to a G7117( with winch). He has acquired a winch from a donor truck and needs pictures/measurements /drawings of the front bumper and what to do with extending the frame to accept the winch. I will forward him any information sent to me and will direct him to this site for information posted here. Thank you Dan

There is a manual that covers the reverse
Hi Dan
Strangely there is a manual covers the reverse process of removing the winch and converting the truck for civilian use. It is a very late war or even early post war manual for the 1 1/2ton 4x4 Chevys. I've got to scan some manual pages this week for another MLU thread and while I'm doing that I try and scan the conversion section of this manual as well. Has some pretty good instructions on how to remove all the winch bits so might help with installing. Cheers Phil
