Pity about the Daimler A/C, but what is the piece of armour to the left?
Oh.....is that a CMP axle over the back?

Richard

Is it the Indian Pattern Wheeled Carrier hiding behind the Daimler, or is it the BSE infected cattle roaming the horizon?

Mark, that was my next question, good for 100 points:
where is this Indian Pattern Wheeled Carrier located and who can explain how it got there?

Here's another sad one, but at least this one seems to have been some sort of gate guard at one point in time (source).

Default Me thinks

It is in Iraq. They have been finding and pulling out other WWII and WWI armour out of there. A PT17 was rescued for the Patton museum , and I have seen pics of A Churchill and other armour.

Iraq, correct. The Iraqis had gathered quite a collection of WW2 armour, including Sherman and Churchill tanks, M36 SP AT Guns, and as we have seen here Daimler A/C's plus that elusive Indian Pattern Wheeled Carrier.

If you mean FT-17, that one was found in Afghanistan (where there's another Indian Pattern Wheeled Carrier ).

Default hull to the left of Daimler A/C

Hi,
it looks a lot like a Rolls Royce A/C.

IŽd say it is a Crossley, 6 x 6, (Medium) Armoured Car built during the early 1930s. A number of these were supplied to Iraq.

Hi,
or perhaps one of the Crossley-Chevrolet Armored Cars given to Persia.

Dave,

As the one attached?

Less likely, I'd say. The chances of one supplied to Iraq surviving there is higher than one that was given to a neighbouring country.

Still, I think someone should go and there and check it out. Better yet, save it if it is not too late. . .

H.

For good measure, and to bring this topic BTT, I’m attaching a picture of a Sherman M32A1B3 TRV.

I’ve lost contact with George Guerra, can anyone get me back in touch with him?

Alternatively, would anyone happen to know this location where these pictures were taken? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks,
Hanno

Hi Hanno,

The Daimler armoured car that we can see on your post was hit by a squadron of Mosquitos in the album no 19 "The red sea sharks" of the adventures of Tintin...
