Something I am sure that has been asked before, but are British Carrier Wheels interchangeable with Canadian wheels.
I seem to remember someone saying that machining was necessary. I ask because I picked up four very nice British wheels today. |

British and Canadian wheels are the same .Just the bearing seal arrangement can be different. Windsor Carrier Wheels are wider , also the tracks .

Having spoken to my friend again the problem he had was that he could not slide the British Wheels between the Canadian suspension forks. There was not sufficent clearance on the bearings.
Could these have been Lloyd Wheels if indeed there is a difference. The ones I have obtained are all dated 1943-44 and the part number is the same as Canadian production minus the C on the TL. |

As I said before the wheels are the same , I had loyd wheels Ford Canada and British wheels next to another , the only difference is the surface where the rubber is vulcanized on , but you cant see that difference unless the rubber is of . The seal caps vary , and that is maybe why they wont fit in a fork.

From memory the seal caps is what was he was refering to.
In theory then unless the seal caps were changed on later production British Wheel will not fit Canadian Carriers. |
