Default Military tires.ca

Is anybody in the region of these guys (30 aspen street Durham, West Gray County)?. There are a couple of ATV tires I am after for my M-gator project, but they want more for shipping than for the tires. Let me know if you can help. They are small enough that they can be mailed. (22x11x10).

Eternal gratitude if someone can help.

I'll be driving through Durham on my way to visit a friend in Owen Sound next Saturday. If they are open Saturday I'd be happy to pick them up for you.

Frank Von Rosenstiel has offered to pick them up this week when he picks up a bunch of tires for a museum project he is involved with. But thanks for the offer Bruce.

I note they have some fresh (2018 production) 9.00x16 non-directional tires at a reasonable price.

Can you direct me to those? I can only find 7.50 x 16 non-directionals. All I really need is a set of tubes and flaps that fit 9:00 x 16 Dunlop 'Trac Grip' Ferret tires.

They do not list tubes or flaps for the above tire. When I have done the ferret RF tires in the past, I went with a much smaller tube due to the thickness of the tire. You do not need a 9.00-16 tube in a ferret tire. If you did use a tube of that size, I would expect the tube to fold over itself which would result in the tube chaffing and eventually blowing. Go to something smaller like a good heavy duty 7.50-16 or even a 7.00-16 tube. You can use just about any 16" re-enforced flap. In the past, I always recommended the Doberman brand tubes and flaps. They have the valve on center tubes which are harder to find these days, and their flaps have good re-enforcement at the valve stem so the tube doesn't blow thru the slot. That was the brand Wallace Wade used to sell at all the MVPA conventions.

Default Tractor shops......

16 inch tubes small or up to 1100 x16 are available at farm tractor shops.....flaps are getting harder to find but the truck tire shops around here have them.... watch the quality of the flaps....got Chinese made flaps some years ago and they cracked while stored on the barn shelves......

I can't stress how omportant the valve on canter is. The local tire shop in brandon used to do tires for the museum and would drag the off-center stems to the middle then inflate. They would last between a week to their first drive before blowing the tube.
