Default CMP "Pig"

According to Mike Conniford in "Bellona Military Vehicle Data No7" this is one of many F60L modified by Singapore Base Workshops for use in the Malayan "Emergency" - note the partially armoured version behind it.

Default CMP "Pig"

Found this picture at the site of the NATIONAL MALAYA & BORNEO VETERANS ASSOCIATION UK.

It is captioned: "A "Pig" armoured truck of the 1st Battalion the Suffolk Regiment in situ in the Kajang area of Selangor around 1950. The Pig was notorious for its humidity and discomfort in the tropical climate. (Courtesy Tony Rogers)"

"Armored Bungalow On Wheels" - looks like it was based on a Ford F60L.

Default Poor crew

Looks like a shine of sweat on the crew. Hope it was equipped with enough cup holders and a good water supply inside.

While most people know the connection between the FV603 Saracen and the Malayan Emergency, what's less known is that there were several projects to create a stop-gap APC including this 3-ton troop transport (with the first mockup seen here) with an armored pillbox on the back in one mode and a fully enclosed armored body in another. Several armored lorries were put into service as well as a mixture of up-armored land rovers and other hodge-podge vehicles.

Indeed. One can make more sense of the numbers now. Plus the driver now has more vision slots than the co-driver
