Default windshield wiper on C15-TA - yes? no?

Hi folks,
Don't have the manuals yet, so asking the collective body of knowledge here...

The C15TA - did it have a windshield wiper at all?

did it just have one for the driver or for both windshields?

If it did have one (or two) was it the same as for the standard C-15?

If yes, does anyone have one or two to sell?
Or a source? (maybe used on vintage civilian chevys?

Thanks!
Jim

Default book says yes

Hi Jim,

The Parts List says:

Windshield Wiper * part number 5828832 Wiper Assy., Windshield, Quantity 2

* asterisk indicates the part is peculiar to CMP vehicles

That part number is not listed for the standard 15 cwt - either 11/12 or 13 cab.

Sorry I don't have any around but try Stefan Leegwater at LwD Parts.

Cheers,

Brian

I've developed a healthy hatred for that asterisk. Scarce parts become expensive if available. There have been a few cases where asterisked parts were used post-war in regular production but I can't think of examples at the moment. I suppose life would be boring if CMPs were like Jeeps - all (almost?) parts available repro.

Hi Jim
As far as I know the wipers were hand operated probably because of the removable windscreen. The last photo shows an aftermarket wiper motor on the one in the Cavalry Museum in Holland. When you sat in the truck it was a bit of an obstruction. I drove mine in a parade in Amsterdam at 30 mph where it just poured rain and I never had to use the wiper because of the armoured flaps. I realize you will probably need one for licencing in PA.
Cheers,
Barry

Barry,
It almost looks like the manual ones for jeeps. I wonder if they would fit...

Different topic - the stowage diagram shows two "waterproof bags" for stowing blankets. You ever seen any of these? I expect I can sew up a bag to size and it would look right. At least until someone turns up with a real one to compare it to.

Any idea what I am referring to?

Jim
