Default P-60 boxes down under

15 of them. This is the smoke round box that fits in the FAT backdoor step cradle. Good deal but over there. Cheers Rob

Hi Rob,

Were these multi use?

The few i`ve picked up (they are common over here, not to rub it in) have been marked as 25pdr shell boxes and from memory the ones i have are marked HE?

I am likely not joining the dots together and assume i have missed a link between the 25pdr and the FAT, hence the box?

Cheers,
Ian.

I wonder a what a pallet from down would cost.
They also fit in the door of a Cab 12, but here they tend to be a nuisance.

Originally, the P60 is for AP projectiles, each in a cardboard tube. Smoke and HE came in P59 boxes, four in a clamp carrier.

Ian, the Link between a Field Artillery Tractor (FAT) and a 25pdr is called a Pintle Hook ( ), although there was sometimes a No27 Limber in between. Or is that too obvious, and it is I who have missed the link in your question?

Default P60 boxes

I would like to buy them all and ship to Vancouver but at what cost?
I'm sure there are a few here that have been looking for a couple each for a while now. In North America P60 and P59 boxes are no where to be found, why is that?

Thanks Tony! You have filled a gap in my knowledge that didnt exist before!

Here is a box i have, hence i asked based on the markings. Not one to be up on what shoots what at who, I didnt know if this was correctly marked for the use on a CMP based on the above statements on the P60 boxes use, or just the same box used for something else. Not that I mind, its a neat and well marked box and one of the first things I bought along time ago so has some sentimental value even!

Ian.

As I hit post, I remembered this other one. It's now residing as a tool box under the seat in the jeep. Has a neat slot cut in (don't shoot me for doing that to what seems something hard to find for others!) with a tab sticking out to enable a lock to be fitted as seen in the photo- makes for great secure under seat storage. It is welded (neatly!) into a frame which shares the front seat bolts and so is kept securely in the vehicle. Fits a hand bag perfectly I get told often!

If there really is a need, I am sure we can scrounge some up to send over somehow. They do seem to be common over here (that said, don't know when I last saw one in the 'wild' at a garage sale or swap to even get to help!).

Cheers,
Ian.

I am now in possession of the 15 P-60 boxes that were advertised on Gumtree. I use these cans for storage and have picked up a number of them over the years so probably now have more than I need? Condition varies with none of them being pristine.
I'm not out to screw anybody but do have a fair investment in time distance and treasure. PM if interested.
