Default Flathead spark plug wire length

I need to build the spark plug wires, can someone tell me the lengths of each one? Including the coil. Thanks in advance!

Default Ford V8 Crab Distributor- HT Leads

Hi Mariano,

Please find attached from my notes.
My engine is the same as in the diagram.
Wire measurements taken from original Ford wires in two NOS conduits that I purchased a long time ago. Same conduits in photo. Wires renewed of course.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Default Bonding straps

Hi Mariano,

I had one side with the bond strap on it but didn't use it. Believe it is only for radio suppression and I don't understand if the conduit is steel and bolted to the block why it needs any further earthing?

Maybe I am missing something, over to the experts.

Cheers,

Interesting point, Jacques.

Was there a Radio Suppression Kit issued for Ford Engines similar to the one issued for the Chevrolet?

Default Ford CMP- Radio suppression kit

Hi David,

I don't know what was supplied in a Chevrolet Radio Suppression Kit but the attached is the contents of a Ford kit.

Those numbers in the kit are for various condensers used on fuel tanks, oil pressure and temperature sending units, etc. No braided earth straps are specified in that kit. The spark plugs conduit earth straps are listed separately. I have seen a diagram of where other straps are placed on the chassis. Probably here on MLU.

Cheers,
