Yup, the defence transport heritage of Tasmania looks to be attending. Only for saturday and sunday though, should be a good event.

I've got a lot of information from the organisers if anybody needs some.

I believe that at least some members from the Military Vehicle Group of tas, or whatevery they are called are going as well.

It is a Happening Thing!

The planning committee have been very busy behind the scenes with funding applications, planning applications, sorting insurance issues and negotiating with Commonwealth, State and Local Government departments as well as with various clubs, associations and individuals.

That is now pretty much behind us. Now all we need is the participants and the visitors.

We are assured of the following displays and participants,
· 22 Light Horse Re Enactors
· 702 Battery, Anti Aircraft Troop (with pyrotechnics)
· German Mountain gun section
· Various Australian Army Detachments
· Air, Navy and Army cadets including band and gun drill team
· Military Vehicles Collectors Club
· Tasmania Police displays
· Collector displays from members of Militaria Collectors of Tasmania Inc., Arms Collectors Guild of Tasmania, Historical Arms and Militaria Society of Tasmania
· Various dealers
· Defense Transport Heritage of Tasmania
· Paringa Archery
· Van Diemen Pistol Club (with air gun shooting gallery)
· Various guest speakers on topics such as local military history, technology, crime investigations, bushrangers to name but a few
· Parks and Wildlife sections
· Mielke Family Display
· Various Competitions on the Campbell Town Rifle Range hosted by the Tasmania Rifle Association

As this event needs visitors we have engaged a consultant who will deliver a three month TV media promotion on two channels starting in January 2008. At that time large promotional signs will appear at each end of Campbell Town to alert the traveling public. There will also be posted events notices on various web sites and tourist printed media.

With visitors and we hope that will include families we will be looking to meet their needs with food and drink outlets and activities for children.

What we need now is Your club and Your display to make this an event that showcases our interests and sport in a positive light.

We have a pavilion 27m x 94m and plenty of out door space as well. Some camping for participants is available shower facilities are limited though.
