What insane group of people proposed, designed, purchased and issued such a ridiculous bit of equipment?
Instead of a flexible hose that will reach anywhere and only has one moving part they come up with a concertina rod system with numerous, eventually leaking, joints, so unflexible that I am sure there were numerous grease points on a Centurian that never got serviced. Suppose it was the same mob who were responsible for untold numbers of British land, air and sea design and serviceability debacles. Lang
