Default liberation of Delft by 48th Highlanders

Art,

See http://home.tiscali.nl/~jschoe/lib/lib5/ and click on "08-05-45 Delft". It shows the picture (attached below) of the 48th Highlanders of Canada during the liberation of Delft.

Do you know any of the guys in this picture?

Regards,
Hanno

Default 48th photo

I saw the picture Hanno and the officer looks familiar but I can't put a name to any of them. I'll pass the photo on to a collegue and see if he can do something at the next Old Timers meeting.

A great collection overall, but horribly mislabeled in some respects! Nonetheless, well done.

Default Thank you, Karmen

There are some here who were there at the time. They are the reason I do what I do. I can say no more. I think you know that.

The Dutch and the Canadians will always have a relationship unequaled by any other. I am so proud of that. I first learned it in 1975. It has been reinforced since. We have a bond which shall never be broken, and indeed this day, Dutch troops are standing tall with Canadians in southern Afghanistan. There can be no greater honour for us.
