Default 1943 Ford Fire Truck

This is my first kick at the cat so if I'm in the wrong place forgive me. I hope to build a home grown museum on my farm with the complete history of this fire truck and the men who servied with it. There is a data plate on the radistor cowl that states Built By C-M-T-S Ottawa Ref-DWG CMT-52A. Does anyone have any idea what this means and is it possible to get a copie of Dwg CMT-52A. Oh ya also does anyone know what or were district MD 10 is? Thanks for your time. T.J.

Well here goes nothing. I'm just new at this computer stuff.

The story goes that this truck originally came from out west, possibly a R.C.A.F. base... Manitoba way ( MD 10 ), it was then supplused to the department of veterans affairs where it was given to Westminster Hospital in London Ontario, which was a Veterans hospital. That's the short story. My conection is that my Dad who was killed when I was 13 was Fire Chief when it came to Westminster Hospital. The Data plate on the fire wall has a Chassis number, a Chassis Serial number, a Engine number, a Cab number 21, a ? CD 1803 number and a Built May 29/43 number. There are two Data Plates one on the drivers door and one on the radiator cowl which read Built By C-M-T-S Ottawa, Ref-Dwg....CMT-52. I'm still looking a round to see if there are any more data plates. I sure appreciate any help you ladds might be. Thanks T.J.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys but I had to get my wife to fix my computer. I couldn't get the site to come up last night.

Holy Cow! Holy Cow! Holy Cow! Nail my feet to the floor. Gollee. Shoot.....

Hey Mike that's great stuff. I don't mean to be a pain but is there any way I can get a better scan of that page. When I try to inlarge it ... it goes blurry and I can't read it. Wow now this is exciting.

I couldn't agree more. I can remember how exciting it was to first see Bill Gregg's book Blueprint for Victory.

Hi T.J. ... and a big Welcome to MLU addicts home away from home while at home. You'll probabbly learn everything you always wanted to know about __?__ but were afraid to ask, including pointers on using computer People in here are awesome and helpful whenever they can be.

Just so's you're aware, the forum IS having access problems lately with a lot of people having trouble getting in, off and on, in a very unpredictable way, so if you can be online in other sites, but can't get in here, it's likely that HERE is where the problem is and not your computer!!!

Meanwhile, Geoff is working on figuring out what the forum problem is and hopefully he can make it behave properly again soon

Take care.

Hi again,

I just moved one of your posts about Tanks from the TAC HQ area of forum announcements and functions talk area into the appropriate Tanks (ARMOURED) area for you

Takes a while to get familiar with the forum and find out what's in here and where everything is at, but lots of people in here to jump in and help you find your way around and how to do things if computer is not something you're used to.

I help Geoff with the forum, as does Hanno, and Keith, and you can PM (private message) any one us for any help or questions.

Have fun!
