Well, as the Gynacologist said to the Actress, it's quite interesting to see things from a new angle.

Good to see the routing of the exhaust and the access panels for the engine and gearbox drain plugs. Before you drop it back on it's track, could you get detail pics of the elbows where the exhaust comes out of the hull? Are these castings, or just bent exhaust pipe? What is the pipe and/or cable running under the RH exhasut near the back?

Sorry it's back down and blasted, But I will get pictures of exhaust elbows as soon as it's back on the hoist. They are cast. The hose you see is my temporary gas line. I just stuck it through the hole to get it out of the way.

Default It's pianted and wired

I just thought that you folks are probably wondering what the heck I'm fixing so here it is.I've had this since I was 16. I bought it for $50.00 in 1968 in Ontario. My dad and I used it a little to skid some logs for my house and it's kind of been sitting around since. Time was a little hard on it , while it was in Ontario but it eased off a little out here in Alberta. I finally had a chance to clean it up a little as I should have done years ago. It has 1781 original miles on it as the speedo still worked but the kids had gotten to the face before I bought it. I could sure use one if someone has one to sell. When I blasted it last week I found western command on the rear right and a red square about 8-9" on the left rear. The CT no. was on the sides about in the centre. Thats all I could see for markings. so here it is, enjoy. In it's original colour. yuck green.

I wish I could send them all to-gether. I used all the original wiring . I also need the head lights and brackets if there is any out there. Or I will have to try and make them. I was thinking maybe a kitchen pot would be close to the shape of a head light.

This I understand is where the overflow tank went? The hole was for the flame thrower piping?

That looks amazing. I can't believe how fast you turned it around from a rusty hull to what it is now.

Are there any plans to make up the Wasp equipment? I remember seeing in some old mags from the last year or so a fellow cast up a replica Wasp nozzle for his Wasp jeep.

Ledsel

I note your carrier appears to be missing the oil filter casing.
Do you know if it was built this way or has someone removed it.

I asked this question before on another thread without reply because mine is missing the filter as well. My vehicle may well have a replacement engine so I assumed it had been removed on mine.

I thought about the wasp thing but it looked too complicated . It would be pretty neat though . And the oil filter I have but I can't find cartriges. I used to be in the filter manufacturing business but I couldn't get the cans to put the media in. I looked in all the filter manufacturers books but there discontinued. There a wierd type with threaded ends. So I thought I'd adapt it to a spin on filter inside the old canister. This carrier has alot of the rigging missing but it's just a parade vehicle and fun machine now. I thought of making a marshmallow gun to look like a machine gun for the kids. Thank's for the reviews.

Bruce Parker, another UC owner lurking in this Forum, experienced a similar situation when his Carrier wound up on its side on his lawn in a subdivision in a small town.

The only cleaning required after that was Bruce's underwear!

And the replacement cartriges are throwaway and cheep..Try a plumbing wholesaler and dig into his catalogues ..

Or you could use the real thing..
