Default British Officers Boots...Nice (New price)

HOLDING for proper IDent.

For Sale: Original wartime dated British Officers Boots. A matched set of size 8S boots in very good+ condition. Complete with original laces, all buckles in place, leather is soft and supple. Metal "Heels and Toes" installed. Manufactured by "Moccasin Makers" Northampton and Dated 1944 with the WD Broad Arrow.

These are not Dispatch Riders boots, but Officers Boots, they were on a kind of special issue to officers of the Ordnance Corps I believe. Toe cap design is different and brown leather as opposed to DR with black pebbled leather and full toe cap.

Default Boots

Richard is partially correct, they are indeed Officer's boots. Officers purchased their clothing from tailors and suppliers of clothing and camp equipment but in the latter stages of the war Officer's clothing was manufactured by Ordnance for sale to Officers. These boots, which are high top and buckled were one of the Ordnance items manufactured for sale to Officers.

Also Officers and WO Is were authorized to wear brown boots. DR Boots were black.
