There is other good gear there, go take a look.

James, there is not let out much with these small pics and no link to the auctioneer's site

From what I can see the last truck pictured has a Canadian-built 15-cwt body.

HTH,
Hanno

Default Body

Yes, definitely a Canadian 2C1 body but mounted on an Aussie WO12 Chev Sigvan chassis - you can see where the original body has been cut off.

Hey give me a break. That was a late night posting after searching for the URL in the first place. At least you got the heads up. And Plushy, what's this "little secret" bit. No secrets here.

Default Re. Cough Cough

Hello James
Actually the truck never was a secret as it lived on Keefy's site for several years. What I kept quiet was the fact I had bought it. I believe in Murphy and so never announce a purchase until it is in our shed. Thanks for upsizing the Camperdown images. It had been a long day and I didn't feel like mucking around in Photoshop.

Bob ,
i was just looking at the last photo and noticed on the back of the F60L there is a possible pair of 20 inch Directional tyres on it, i will check them out while i am at the auction . They might be good for Project Burnt Budgie

Default Auction

I went and had a look yesterday afternoon.

It appears the main area of interest is the 2C1 body. One of the people (someone from South Australia) asked whether the truck could be re-auctioned as he was only interested in the box...

Anyway the bits on the back of the F60L have been moved to another pile for separate sale as has anything else. The trucks will be sold around 3 as they are seen as a drawcard.

The 2C1 body has some nasty rust which wasn't evident in the pictures. Here are a couple I took.

Default Ferrous oxide 2

This is the left side - and plenty more in the rest of the body. Not that it wasn't repairable, but there was almost as much work in this as the 2C1 I already have.

Be interesting to see what things bring.

The tyres look good but have suffered the ravages of age and are display only. The F60L has no motor, the other motors for sale have been in the weather (one is from a Strickland Bren-tractor).

The C15A is reportedly drivable but was used as a superphosphate spreader and looks to be fairly tired.

Default C60L

This was really scrap, although it had quite a nice crane.

The front axle was Bedford non driven.

Default Strickland motor

Here's the weathered V8 from the Strickland with it's typical dash still attached. It also had the kero atomiser under the carby.

Apologies for the poor quality of the pics - it was almost dark.

Default Plushy's purchase

Our own James bought the F15A with the banana chassis for $800 - some good parts there.

The Sigvan with the 2C1 body went to a former MLU-er in Maffra on the other side of the state for a reasonable $1100.

The F60L was also sold for $1300 and the C60l went to the scrappers for a low $400.

Default Bonus

James also scored a nice bonus in the form of something you rarely see in a CMP.

Well it was a very interesting day at the auction with some new friends met and some crazy prices paid for things .

As Keith has said i managed to purchase the F15A now called at my house the `banana` which should yield most of the parts needed to get my F15A onto the road

The prices were remarkabley high for some items a MB-F1 manual sold for as high as $120 and a spare parts manual sold for $100 ,i managed to get one of the MB-C1 manuals for $60 and a RAAF version of the MB-F1 manual for $80. I also met Ryan at the Clearance sale as well as Ron Schneider and four new Blitz owner contacts who were all told to hurry up and sign up to MLU so we can help them with there projects .

The New owner of the F60L is a ex 2RAR trooper who was a ACCO driver , he is quite keen to get the F60L back on the road to haul his collection of Fordson tractors to events .

The New Owner of the C15A is a MLU`er or has been and mainly bought it for the tray to finish off his C15A for Corowa 2009 , he seemed quite happy with the tray and likes a little challenge . I also spoke to the previous owner of the truck who knows where the original Sig Van body is that was removed from the truck .

Unfortunately the Chev crane was snaffled up by a scrappy who also managed to get two of the 24 stud blitz motors that were there as well as nearly 60% of the other items at auction .

The strickland motor was bought by parties unknown but i did overhear that it was going to be used to repower another Blitz somewhere .

The tray on the F60l was indentified late in the day as previously belonging to a Studebaker or GMC Military truck . Also spotted around the stuff present was a carrier wheel ,card board 50mm?? shell packaging ,a pair of Large Fuel tanks possibly from an ACCO , numerous small military boxes and tin containers some of which i will hopefully be recieving photos of to post on MLU .

Now its photo time

I was alos approached by a Gentleman after the auction who has a F15A for sale that is apparently nearly complete, i will be chasing this lead up in the next week or so .

I also picked up another bit of information about some `items of interest` over in S.A which need a bit of investigating

Cheers Plushy

I think a border raid may be desirable.

Thumbs up

Great pics Plushy!
As mentioned earlier Raylene and I were there too and got to meet our first MLU'ers. It was a good day with new friends met and some goodies to be had. Unfortunately I didn't bring a camera, , and there was quite a bit of rain, but you won't hear me complain about that.
I managed to pick up a few manuals ( dodge and carrier ) and am very happy. Sorry to Ron whom I outbid. But here's hoping Ron you manage to twist that scrappies arm successfully. Not only was there several carrier wheels amongst the junk but a full boggie and much of a rear axle and drive sprockets.
So when's the next clearing sale??
