Titan 11.00-20 non-directional tires.
For those with either the larger CMPs or the old deuces, I noticed an ad a while ago on ebay for NOS Titan brand 11.00-20 NDT tires at $125 USD each. I contacted the seller through ebay and ended up contacting them directly. In the end, I got 8 tires along with 1 very good Wrangler HMMWV tire and runflat on rim for $1050 US. They managed to get all that on one pallet, strapped and wrapped, and shipped to my border depot for another $270. Once all the exchange was figured out, along with the taxes at the border, they worked out to less than $200 Cdn a tire. The tires are fairly fresh manufacture, and complete with flaps. They have sold several hundred on ebay, and Dustin, whom I dealt with, said they still have good inventory.
The company is Feltz tire (they have a website) out of Marshfield Wisconsin. Highly recommended. I can also recommend the Titan brand of tires as well. When I restored my M135 about 6 years ago I used those on the back of the truck, and 2 brand new STA brand on the front. The STA fronts have slightly weather cracked since then, but the titans are looking great. Last edited by rob love; 03-03-19 at 18:24. |

Titans
I picked up mine today and couldn’t be happier!
I have a set that I picked up slightly used and like the on my C60L. These will be for my C60L winch truck that I’m bringing home this summer |

Nothing better than fresh new rubber on a truck...especially when they are priced at what used would normally cost.

$200 a tire barely scratches the surface on the family beater yet alone on a heavy weight truck. Nice tip, thanks for posting Rob!

Aside from the after market, if you are looking for 9.00-16 NDT or NDCC, I suspect there is no more military surplus. You either pay the price for the aftermarket, or else you live with the surplus Michelin radials as used on the LSVW, or the surplus michelens as used on the G-wagon. We acutally used a set of the G-wagon tires on the M37 3/4 ton at work, and they look good and have incredible traction.
Surprisingly, Jeep tires still do appear on the US surplus market. I had one dealer selling them to us at $75 a tire for unused titan NDCC. However, the shipping was what killed the deal. |

Isn't the Diamond T supposed to have 9.00-20 tires Dan?
Unfortunately inflation has caught up with these....they are now $150 each. |

Hi all,
"Does the DT has 9.00x20 tyres?" Well, yes and no. As far as I know, all the common models (968/969/970/972) were thus shod ex-factory. But, there is speculation that they may have been originally designed for 10.00 or 11.00 tyres. Evidence the volumous mudguards and axle spacings. One model, built on a 970A chassis clearly shows much larger tyres, 11.00 maybe. Sam (UK) successfully runs 11.00s on his 969. The thought is that they were under-shod to enable the towing of the 8 ton engineers trailer. If anyone has hard evidence, I would be VERY interested! See my thread on "the G", I am kw573. Sam, downunder. |

Diamond T tire size
Yes Rob all my manuals say 9:00x20
As I said in my post the 11:00x20 look real nice. They fill up the wheel well and there is still lots of room for travel. There should be also be a couple of miles ( ? ) hour to gain with the taller tire. or very slightly lower RPM for the same MPH A friend in the U.S ran 10:00 x 20 on his Diamond T Dan Jahn |
