Does anyone recognize the badge in the attached photo? Trying to identify it for a friend.

Looks like a Kings Crown (pre 1952) version of the RAF officers service dress cap badge.

Could be RAF. Based on your location I thought it might be Canadian but compare to the RCAF of the same era.

King's Crown and Queen's Crown.
