Title
Concrete truck built and operated by Marchioro and Son, who were based at 102 Oxford Street, Leederville from the mid 1940s
Accession number
PH01306a
Description
Gaetano Marchioro bought a block at 102 Oxford Street, Leederville, opposite Venables Hardware, to build a premises for his concreting business. There was a brick frontage with a shop-front window, to look like a shop, with a large yard behind. He built this cement mixer after visiting America and seeing the Rex design mixer. Venables Engineering were also involved. This is thought to be the first mixer of this type in Western Australia.
