Thanks Alex.

What year were they made. Is 1/2 ton the accurate description and are they rare/unusual. Value?

Hi Charlie..
Any data plates would help me ident.

Probably pre June 2nd '41 would be the date of manufacture.
Model WC 13
Engineers symbol T 211
1/2 ton
WB 116" or 123"
Need ser.#
contract #.(may be W-398-QM-9388)
Bid #. (may be 398-41-162)
Those two numbers and serial # will help to date it..
May be '40-41...

Default Half ton WC Open Cab

T207 WC3 or WC 4, chassis 8644701 up
T211 WC13, chassis 8676901 up
T215 WC21, chassis 8150001 up

Look here for serial number data;

http://homepage.powerup.com.au/%7Edjr/serial.html

... and a sequential listing of chassis numbers that will help to date it. It is a "1941 model" but in practice could have been made pretty much any time between September 1940 and May 1942.

It's one of the most common Dodge types and not particularly valuable, but if it does have the original T2xx engine and complete original body and cab that will maximise the value.

Default 1/2 ton Dodge and F60L

Thanks for that Gordon.

Early April 1942. Before 15th. After 30th March.

Great site you put me onto. Full details of chassis #s, body types and build dates.

Thankyou again.

On the F60L topic, the steering box had been changed to the round clamp mount type with the chaassis mount crudely welded on. Discovered the spline diameter of this type is smaller than the flat plate mount type. Approx 1/8th inch difference. I have only seen the round mount type on 6" ball 6bolt steering arm, heavy duty front ends, and flat mount on 4" 4 bolt types. Interesting the smaller dia on the heavy duty ones !
