parts for 43 GPW restoration
Wanted : '43 GPW parts
Gents, I'm just getting back into the hobby.. starting over or sorts. I've just acquired a 43 GPW project that I plan to put through a full restoration. (picture below). I'm located in Kingston ON, and looking for 'F' stamped parts (preferably original used or NOS). Please take a look at the pics and tell me your thoughts as well as what I'll need.. aside from mechanical, cosmetically I will need: - 5 combat rims - both front seats - rear seat - front bumper and top bumper bracket. - both rear bumperettes - Jerry can holder - spare tire holder - fender mounted blackout light I'm hoping the MLU community in Ontario can help me get these parts. cheers! In pretty good shape for it’s age. I should be so lucky!
What do the data plates have to say? David Oh...and welcome back to the OD Disease Ward! |

Great start! Looks nice and straight and been looked after - love the pin-striping. Looks like many of the external parts have been removed rather than torn off through use, too - a real bonus.
Lots of things you will need in addition to your list (ie horn, pintle hook, hood bow, wipers, dash lamps, etc), so if you run out of NOS/original options, try Joe's Motor Pool - excellent quality repro parts, or MV Spares. There are other sources, of course, but you'll find many of them stock parts from either of these two sources. Mike |

Join the MVPA (if you are not already), crack open the latest edition of Supply Line and you could order up everything from the vendors in a couple phone calls and emails. Nice looking GPW and look forward to seeing its progress back to fighting trim.

Gpw items
I will look to see what Jim has in his collection to see what has Ford on it. I know he has most of the ww2 jeep items you are looking for.
Don't think the Gpw rims had f, were generic combat rims Will take a look. My email is cmpmagazine at hotmail.com Eric

Hi Eric,
The date of delivery is April, 26, 1943. I am pretty sure it is a Jeep used by the Americans during the war. The serial number is 111153, DOD 4-26-43
