Just measured again - 36.5mm. In the last four days we have received 90mm or 3.54". I had a quick talk with upstairs and we will be sending more rain east to you Max and Tony.

Default Rain

It's official...... Bandiana is wet. VERY WET And about bl**dy time too. The Hume weir was down to less than 3%. For those of you not in the know. The water released from the Hume flows down the Murray River past Corowa. With the water level that low, That is why there was a distinct lack of DUKWS this year. Still a long way to go yet.................................

Karmen,

Can you please be a bit more careful with that Rain Dance, you seem to have missed Australia completely...

Look what you have done to poor old Borneo..

Rain in Borneo floods road
28 Apr 2007

A major road in Borneo has been blocked off after heavy rain led to flash floods across the area.

The Borneo Bulletin reports on April 26th that a section of road in Kampong Selayon was flooded out after downpours yesterday morning.

Local people have blamed the flooding on poor drainage in the area, as the road was rendered inaccessible by the two-metre deep (6.6 feet) water.

Residents have called on authorities to improve the drainage across the area, as they complained that the road which connects to Jalan Jerudong is also prone to flooding.

Regards

Post Rain...

The rain was patchy, but very bloody welcome.
Ranged from a little over an inch to just on 2 inches over the district. We got enough at home to put 7' of water in the well. The farmers are happy & I expect a lot of tractors to fire up very soon & start to sow the winter cerial crops.

Default You lot...

I hope your dams are filling up. The country I saw from both land and air was parched.

Keith -- you can be a cheeky bugger at times. Not that I mind, but somehow you always seem to catch me off-guard. I shall have to work on that.

Max -- glad about Happy, sorry about the mini-cows... they were cute as pie and actually listened to me when I spoke to them (unlike most people here). My best to all, Max.

Kathy -- there's a wealth of Blitz-bits on your property, you know the drill, carry on. Stealth Mode is acceptable.

Tony -- Have you dug your trench yet?

Rainman Bob
Don't want to (ahem) rain on your parade but earlier this week we had over 200mm of rain in 6 hours and two tornadoes. Here's a pic taken at 1600hrs of the supercell approaching. The lights you see are on the soccer field across the street. They came on prematurely.

Default Kartmann's Fault

Hi Derek
I guess Kartmann got her directions mixed up again when she did her last rain dance. And to get two tornadoes she must have been leaping all over the place.

Default Retouched pic

I've retouched the pic to lighten it up a bit. You can see the cloud nearly extends all the way to the ground. I watched as it approached at over 40 mph. Watched, that is until we received an automated phone message from the National weather Service telling us to hunker down in an interior room and place a mattress over us. Two tornadoes did touch down, but they were in towns on either side of us. We were hit by straight-line winds of 60mph and two sections of our fence blew over. Other than that, we came through Scot-free. Thanks Ma!

Hi Max
Read in the paper today that rain you got should give OZ a bumper wheat crop this year...
A good mash of wheat will give you some great grain alcohol...
CMP (Driver) fuel...

You wouldn't recognise this place now...
Had a bit over an inch of rain over a couple of days & the place has turned green instantly.
Thanks Ma for the rain dance...

Have had good rain here too, I haven't had to cart water to the house for two months now so life is getting back to normal at last.
