1942 4.2 inch SB Mortar
Well just finished restoring the above noted Complete with MK 1 Base plate and sight. Turned out really good. Fully deactivated. Thanks to Rob for all of his advice.

Very nice. The vast majority of survivors are the late war type with the wheeled Base Plate.

Tom and I discussed the preservation of the bare (shiny) metal. In the museum game, as well as some firearms enthusiasts who collect rather than shoot, wax is the answer. It will last a lot longer than oil before requiring re-application.
