It won't be this government but likely the next one. Even this likely was to score cheap points.....the military is not their focus....ever.

Least attractive is what the Federal Government loves. When the Government and the JBC have no passion or interest in what they are suppose to be displaying, then there is no desire to change it. It does not help when the local guides post five star ratings and reviews like this.

"Honestly such a great museum for anyone interested in D-day history, particularly the Canadian version. The museum really delves deep and provides detailed information about the Canadian role in the war. There is also a temporary exhibit about Dieppe which is well worth visiting. Highly recommended for all and there is free parking."

What is really needed is an unbiased assessment of the JBC, and other museums for that matter, as everyone I have spoken to who have been to other Normandy sites and know something about the topic all agree that the JBC is not a very good museum.

Default Yippee, JUNO Beach Has Been Saved....

This ridiculous legal battle has finally ended with the federal government buying the land in question for 4 million and pledging additional money to keep this sad excuse for a museum afloat.

Default "step up and protect the legacy and reputation of our country"

Big words by the Save Juno Beach campaigners:

Quote:
The condo development "was a step too far for Canadians," said Cindy Clegg of the Save Juno Beach campaign.

"Our efforts to save Juno Beach from development told Canadians what was happening in France, at a time when authorities were looking the other way," she said. "It should never have gotten to this point.

"Canadians make a promise every Remembrance Day to never forget the sacrifices made for future generations. And this year, we forced our government to step up and protect the legacy and reputation of our country as an ally and force for good in a war-torn world."
Canadians may want to know what their CAD 4 million in tax revenues was spent on:
