Default What carrier

Just saw a movie (done in documentary style) 1943 about women in the British Army. "The Gentle Sex" Can be found on Free-Classic-Movies.com this is an open site not a pirate site.

Among many vehicles there is a very clear close scene of a couple of carriers that had an engine sticking out the front.

what is it?

Not related but found this photo;

Lang,

The ones around the 24 minute mark? A couple of Loyd carriers.....the shape can be confusing, but the engine is actually in the back.

Thanks for posting; some good footage of Bedford OY's and even a Monkey face CMP.

The full size photo is even more impressive, and another. Shame they are all going to be scrapped!

Everytime I see the photo on the right I am intrigued, the side facing ambulance appears to have Bedford OY / MW type bonnet sides. Definitely not a Bedford ML ambulance as the front mudguard on those did not encroach on the bulkhead. It would seem to be an Austin K2with either a Bedford bonnet or just the sides.
