I contacted them and they're in Calgary, Alberta so it's not too far from me. It's a British set made by Aeronautical and General Instruments Ltd, so I guess some Brit units made it to Canada. I told them I'd take it.
I don't think I've seen any pics of that kind of stand before.

I think the legs fold out of the lid to keep the set off the ground when in use.

(pause for rummage)

WftW Volume 1 page W.S.11-5 "Ground Station" (this uses a 6V 16AH LT battery with a Niphan socket and the "Boxes, Primary Battery, 240V No.1" with a cable that connects them to the set) and...

"When the station is used on the ground the front cover is removed and two collapsible legs pulled out from inside to form a stand for the set. A ground station (Low Power or High Power) may also be equipped to be transported by vehicle. In that case Supply Units and accumulators are supplied."

I think you've got a real prize there.

If you can find the primary battery box, the rest of the ground station should be simple to get because they were still using the 6V 16AH batteries in the 1970s (and they were still wooden cased).

(AGI are still in business in the UK, by the way. Still a Defence Contractor.)

Chris.
