Default Bofors gun Rammer Tray question

Good afternoon,
I have a Deactivated 1943 Bofors gun. I have a question re the rammer tray.

If i use the hand handle and open and close the breech, I understand this also cocks the rammer tray. (and the firing pin) The breech stays down and open.

I understand the rammer tray when released via the foot pedal slams forward and launches a round into the breech, hence pushing the extractors forward and letting the breech slam upwards and firing off the firing pin.

My question is... If i manually override the extractors with the slide extractor release lever and close the breech, I am still able to release the rammer tray when the breech is closed, surely this will launch a round into a closed breech if done in error.? I hope this makes sense, but I find it odd that I can slam a round into a closed breech.

I am only completing these actions without rounds as my bofors is deactivated and therefore wont accept a round in the breech.

Can anyone help?
Brad
