Default 66th Kangaroo Reunion Luncheon, and celebration of their 70th Anniversary (2014)

Hanno;

I spent this past Saturday in Toronto, with these fine Gentlemen, at the 66th Annual Kangaroo Reunion Luncheon, and celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the formation of the 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment (the “Kangaroos”), Canadian Armoured Corps.

Those surviving Kangaroos in attendance Saturday, at the 66th Kangaroo Reunion Luncheon, and celebration of the 70th Anniversary of their formation were, from left to right:

- Carl Atkinson (Lance-Corporal) (“A” Squadron, 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment)
- Jack Luke (Trooper) (“A” Squadron, 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment)
- Colin McMechan (Trooper) (“B” Squadron Headquarters, 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment)
- Don Simpson (Lieutenant) (Officer Commanding 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment Signal Troop)
- Vic Norburn (Trooper) (“B” Squadron, 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment)

with, in the background, Bill Miller, the son of William J. Miller (Trooper) (“B” Squadron, 1 Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment).

Hello Mark,

Thanks for sharing this! Great to see the Kangaroos are still going strong. I see Bill Jr. did his utmost to make it a memorable event, as always.

I could not be there, but my thoughts were with those at reunion in person and in spirit. Would have loved to be able to shake their hands and meet them in person again.

Hanno
