Been there and done that. Man, can 60 year old tires be frustrating.

Luckily, the last shop I was in had the big coats tire machine which would turn the rim while a disc would drive at the beads. It would take apart almost any tire.
I remember one set of highway tracter tires which just wouldn't come apart. We sent them downtown where the guys used the old tried and true tire wedges and had them apart in minutes. There are also the tire hammers with the wedge built onto one side, but on a tough tire these can be frustrating as well.
