Default M813A1 CDN Question

Good day
I was hoping that someone here would have some detailed pictures of the Canadian M813A1 with the skid-mounted fuel tanks. I am looking for any pictures of the CF amendments on the truck. This is for a 1/35 model project I'm working on. Thanks in advance.

This image taken during RV 81 may help you out.

Don't forget to put the "hoodscoop" on the Canadian 5 ton hoods. Basically it was a sheet metal cover to cover the jake brake modification to the engines.

Default Jacobs Engine Brake

From the Modification Instruction I have in my collection (C-30-470-000/CF-20), the Jacobs Engine Brake wasn't installed until 1983. The vehicle in my 1981 photograph does not have the signature engine hood assembly.

That was about the year I remember doing them.

Looking at your photo, it is not hard to see why transport Canada eventually decided that those tenders did not meet the standard. As I recall they were single wall tanks, and merely cargo strapping them in place hardly seems overly secure.

I was hoping you two would be lurking around here. Ed, your article in Army Motors (yes I still call it Army Motors) really inspired me to build a 5 Ton from around RV86. Would the ND tiers still have been used? I know by RV92 (I was with the Strats then) they had a different pattern. also at that time would the spare tire have been moved to the back of the passenger side underneath the cargo box?
