Angry Well if you must

Good advice given with 13 cabs.

It is not just a simple case of 'cab back and roof' as you now probably know, as you really do need to graft a complete cab floor and framework on to make it right. As already mentioned you have at least then salvaged the real thing for future use, or perhaps someone with an HUW they want to rebuild?

Another difference is that the front wings on a C8A are narrower than their 15cwt counterparts, so a serviceable/repairable 13 cab is definately the way to go. You do at least have a good nose section, doors, seats, engine cover and dash assembly.

As I write this however I wonder if the task of restoring to its correct HUW configuration would in fact be easier !!?

Ian

Default HUPs

I think I would have to agree with Ian really, its a lot of effort to create a vehicle that was never in the ETO. Seems to me that its a nice truck as it is, why not keep it that way with the potential for some one to reconstruct it at some point in the future, why not wait for a more suitable truck to come along and move it on?

There is another angle to this, all though I realise its a dirty word... money, Heavy utilities attract good prices in Europe, well good ones do any way. You may find some payback by reinstating the original body style. I'm sure Ian can confirm that selling one of these trucks generates a lot of calls, I even get calls whe I'm not selling one!!!!

appologies for what may well be an unwelcome comment!

kind regards

nick

Max the body is a New Zealand made GS body & was only fitted to NZ army vehicles. By using it you would need to paint & mark your truck as a New Zealand Army one.

Max if you want to do yours as an Aussie truck maybe you need to build an early timber body as the one pictured below.

Cliff our 11cab would have had a Canadian body on it as it came from the Middle East, a hand me down from the poms. I do have the remains of a ford that came from New Zealand with that little bird painted on it
