Ma I do not know what a 'brown recluse' looks like but I think it is a Daddy Longlegs.

Cheers

Talking I just Google all day ...

Hi ... I finally googled images for the Brown recluse spider and the Daddy Longlegs ... the Brown Recluse seems to have a fatter different body and shorter legs than the Daddy.

The whole reason I brought this up was because I sanpped that pic of the spider in my bathtub at the motel while there ... a friend saw the pic of it and said it looked like a Brown Recluse, said, if so, it was dangerous and I should be careful.

If you Google images for the Brown Recluse spider (which apparently likes damp climates) it will pop up a lot of very nasty looking images of what those little creepy crawlies can do to you if you get bit Quite horrible to look at!

My spider is a Daddy-LL ... it HAS to be, because I insist!

No its not, now come on and don't be silly. A Daddy Long-Legs is a Crane Fly and has wings.

What WE call a DLL doesn't have wings, and looks a lot like the pic Karmen posted... can't ID it for sure, though.

Liar liar pants on fire!!!

That's NOT a crane fly either ... to look at it you'll clearly see that that's a MOSQUITO!

Hi Karman...
Happy belated BD wishes..
Old too fast and smart too late...
Check the data plate on that spider...If it is a Daddy Longlegs the model number will be DLL and then the serial number..If it is a brown recluse it will be BR and then the serial number..
I have manuals on both...

Thanks Alex ... I think

Hmmmm ... there's a lot of truth in your cheeky comment

It's a DLL ... see it's joints and compare with pics of other DLL's

That other thing really is a Manitoba-Mosquito ... recognize 'em a mile away much scarier than a mere nasty little old brown recluse spider :

FYI ... Manitoba/Winnipeg starting the mosquito program early this year ... already begun I believe!!!
