Nothing to do with the topic, Big Mike, but, since your old Regiment was the Northumberland Fusiliers, I thought I'd let you know that my old TA unit's Affiliated Regiment was the Lancashire Fusiliers. XX of Foot.

We still wear the Primrose Hackle, which was "willed" to us in perpetuity, when the Lancs were stood down from the Order of Battle.

Default White diffs.

Brad,
Don't know if they were painted white originally, but I've owned at least 15 carriers over the years and haven't seen any trace of white paint on a diff.

Tony:

Perhaps I should tuck a Primrose Hackle in behind the ACMF cap badge on my Slouch Hat, thus creating confusion amongst Commonwealth Forces.

Big Mike:

Red on top of the hackle...of course...soldier's blood.
Our RRF affiliated Bn still visits yearly, as we do with them.
