Default Tracks are a no go.

Why are the AFV Club T62 track (long chassis) for M4VVSS(AF35104) almost an inch shorter than kit supplied vinyl? My kit supplied set broke and is unrepairable, and so I'm wondering what set I can use to replace them.

Any information would be appreciated.

I'm not a model maker, but just to check - is that T62 track for a T62 (soviet tank) instead of an M4?

T62 track is the riveted Chrysler steel chevron, I assume long chassis means M4A4, also a Chrysler product.

Thanks to those that have dropped me a line re:T62 track.

I am aware of the US track designation, but I'm guessing that if you picked up a box of model tank track labelled T62, it could mean two different tanks

Which brings me back to my question. If this set is an inch too short what do I use?

Surely you have a claim against whoever supplied you with tracks that were too short for the longer M4A4 type Sherman if they said that they were for that application. If not you could buy another set and use the excess for bling. If this is a problem that others have found there will probably be threads about it in a modeling forum.

Good luck,
David

How many links have you got - are you just missing some, or are they off scale?

I think you should have 83 links (as opposed to 79 for normal) per side.

Could you ask the vendor for another set and add a few links?

my apologies as I should have mentioned that they're vinyl, not individual tracks. From AFV Club.
