Default CAV DBNB Dynamo brushes needed.

CAV DBNB Dynamo brushes needed for my Austin K5, I believe these dynamos were also fitted to the Humber Box etc ? Morris C8 ? & others.

22.23mm (0.875in) wide.
7.15mm (0.281in) thick.
Don't know the length.
I would of thought these were easy enough to find but not by part number of the dynamo by the looks.

Default brushes

I have 4-5 of those DBNB generators . I rebuilt one some years ago and put it aside for the future Morris CS8 project. Good luck finding new brushes, You may have to salvage used brushes from another DBNB . In the case of the Morris, the DBNB is driven by the duplex timing chain.

Hi Mike I thought this might be the case as I've exhausted every avenue I know, my next option is to find bigger ones & linish them down or have some made if I could find a company than makes brushes ?

Hi Ian,

This is a Dutch company but I reckon there should be a similar company in the UK? See: http://www.emeko.com/categories/elec...carbon-brushes

Hope this helps.

Regards,

It seems like it shouldnt be too hard to try and make some. I wonder if you could try artist supply stores for a block of hard graphite.

The type of material will be important for long life.
What about going to a motor rewind business?

a quick google on graphite found this company who make bushes. They look to be more large manufacture, but it could be worth asking about offcuts and whether they'd do a small job in downtime.

Default CAV Brushes

Ian, Have you tried http://www.jcrsupplies.co.uk
Looks like they might have some that you could cut down to suit.
Cheers, Terry

Hi Terry thanks for your link & everyone else that has given me some ideas, I'm going to check them all out on Monday but keep it coming as I'm not the only one that needs these brushes so it would be great to find a source.
