Up for offer is a NOS Battery clamp surround for the Ford CMP truck- or Blitz as known in Australia.

This surround is VERY RARE in any condition as most are lost due to battery changes in the last 60+ years or thrown away due to a not fitting the style replacement of battery put on the truck. Let alone to be found in NOS condition all these years later.

Condition. NOS- new and unused and in excellent condition for its age. It is covered in black paint. The clamp has some scratches from storage and is a little bit dusty- I gave it a light brush over. There is VERY light to nil surface rust where the paint scratched off and this in no way affects the clamp- check the photo.

When i bought the clamp, it carried the part number of LV7 FD, 51A, 5165A. The tag visible in the photo's has no visible number on it, but rest assured this is the SAME as the other clamp i have which was sold under the same part number. FD stands for Ford and 5165A is the part number for this clamp as listed in Ford CMP parts books- see photo of an F15A manual (the same number is listed in the F60L manual and i guess also in the other Ford CMP parts manuals but check your application before bidding). This clamp will DEFINITELY at least fit a Ford F15A and F60L truck and probably more.

For those who are wondering, this does fit an original FORD CMP battery box. I tried it on my F15A's original box and as you can see in the photos, it fits like a glove. I can see no reason why it would not fit other original Ford CMP battery boxes but please check your parts manuals to make sure.

I am ONLY SELLING ONE OF THESE. I will not be selling my other clamp. Dont miss out on your chance to fit an original, hard to find part to your truck to finish it off.

This clamp could have more uses than just the Ford CMP but i do not know what they are- possibly the Chevrolet CMP or other Ford WW2 manufactured vehicles such as armoured cars, other trucks or bren/machine gun carriers. Check your manuals!

Default MB-C2 Manual

Hi all - I can't for the life of me work out these Ebay buyers. I had the MB-C2advertised twice for $65 Buy It Now. It was a good manual apart from a bit of tatter on the front cover. Didn't sell. Yet another one appeared with starting price of $89.95 that had a bit of spine damage. Finished up selling for $122.50 plus postage. You work it out.

Looks like a perfect candidate for restoration! But I think it´s a C15 15-cwt, not a C8.

chev blitz truck 1942
Hi Firetruck Enthusiasts, This 1942 Chevrolet Blitz Firetruck up for auction has been very generously donated to our local volunteer brigade by the estate of a past member. It was in going order, but it hasn't been started in 2 years. It has a steel tank on the back and B&S Firefighter Pump. Would definitely been suitable for restoration. Can assist with loading onto transport. Any queries, please Phil on 0427464319, and I will attempt to answer your questions as best as I can. Thanks for looking and Good Luck!!

It's not a Holden-built C15A either which makes it pretty unusual in this country.

No, definately a C8AX. It has 6 stud wheels and the data plate listing it as an XH8448 fits nicely into This list.

Yes we got it, but please rub it in some more

How do you explain "chassis model C15441" on the data plate?

Sorry for asking silly questions, but Chevīs are not my strong point. . .

This now rings a bell - I'll have to check my pics but I think this is how the C8AX plates are stamped for some reason.

Sorry Hanno. I used "Read new posts", and came into the discussion at the bottom of page 6 and replied before I noticed that others had more kindly pointed out the discrepancy.

Who can explain Chev reasoning? It's a mystery why they (or DND perhaps?) would rate the C8AX as a 15cwt. Perhaps some HUP/HUW owners could share what their plates state. The real clue is the Chassis Serial, with 8448 ID'ing the C8AX.

This C8AX was sold for AU $3,007.25 and the chassis/cab ended up at a MLU Forum member - see C8AX Tac Sign:

Default Wasn't this the one...

which was in a recent clearing sale?

It certainly didn't look like it had hit a bridge before being sold at the clearing sale. Possibly the wheels were removed to lower it after hitting something while being transporting it on the back of the truck. What a shame.

I think it was Another Blitz on Oz EBAy. It was without wheels and it seems the roof was already damaged.

Yes I think you're right. Somehow I had missed it. These C8AX vehicles are as common as anything here now.

Does anyone know what happened to this one?

I can't say for sure whether the radiator is for a Chev CMP, it certainly looks similar but I don't see any inlet fitting for the steam relief tube. Also, some radiators I've seen that did have the fitting for the steam relief tube had a fairly large boss on the front face to hold the drain valve, this radiator doesn't seem to have the large boss but that might just be the angle of the photos.
