Default Chespales in action

Chespales (Chestnut palings) or "faggots" (don't blame me for modern day usage of this word!) being laid by British troops to improve traction for a Matador? Artillery Tractor.

Sarge: "Make sure you run over the faggots!"

Great pic, wonder if you noticed the doll on the front? Faggots and Gollywogs (looks suspiciasiously so) from what seems a politically incorrect bygone era!

Derek, you could have tried a little harder. "sticks being placed in the wheel tracks" is not the same as "faggots being laid"

(just in jest. no harm intended)
