Default Covers Waterproof No.20 Z.A.23960 1944

Note: Photo Bucket figures they should be paid for hosting my pictures, not bloody likely!
Photos are here pages 3 and 4

A while back there was a request for pictures and measurements.

Original post:
http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=21286

1. Steel plate is open at the bottom, made from 2mm steel that is welded at the corners, rivets are flush on the inside. The 2 holes match any CU. No.1 or 2 or JD. No.1, 2 or 3.(As well as others I'm sure)

2. Canvas measurements.
Plates that hold the canvas are light gauge steel 19mm wide with 5mm domed rivets (Solid black dots). There is a step in the top piece where the canvas is doubled up.
Dark lines represent double thickness' of canvas.
Hashed lines represent stitching. Finished edges are 7mm folded under 25mm with the stitching at about 22mm.
The chimney is about 58mm in diameter sewn to the oval hole on the right hand side. ( basically a 12 point plug has to be able to pass through it.)

Pictures of the No.20, front, interior, left side, back, right side, interior seams and chimney detail.

Adrian

Noted for future reference!

Perhaps it's on the parts list - I will take a look.

Though I think unlikely these days I will get a carrier.

Cheers

Tim

Bren carriers, but also anywhere an individual C.U. or J.D. is exposed to the elements, halftracks, jeeps, trailers etc.

Great photographs, although without doing a comprehensive search, I believe the vehicle is a Mudcat and not the Armoured Snowmobile. I am though sure that it is not an Armoured Snowmobile.

I made a copy of my original cover for use in the Carrier. I ended up using canvas from some surplus CF duffel bags PrincessAuto was selling at the time. The hardest part to sew on the machine was the small side piece that attaches to the right side. Im still amazed my Mom's sewing machine was able to sew through that much canvas.
