Default Ottawa Tulip Festival

Is it happening this year with the camp/"battle" ?? Nothing on the official TF 2018 site says it is going forward or on.

The best way to keep on it is to follow the Facebook page for the event, you'll have to know the organizers or someone else on the page to send you an invite since it is a hidden page. If you don't do Facebook then I don't know what to tell you but for sure it isn't going to be going on where it has in the past.

There will be an event at Merrickville, Ont known as the Merrickville Liberation Festival as the grounds at Lansdowne Park are under renovations.

The event initially met with some resistance from one town councillor (first article linked by Gord Pringle) as he was against having Germans in the town. Mike Calnan and I did a presentation to the Merrickville town council to outline what events would be going on they voted to have the event on again with German Re-enactor participation (except for that one town councillor.) http://www.ngtimes.ca/merrickville-w...icipal-report/

Re-Enactors and Historic Military Vehicle (HMV) owners can visit the Facebook page to join it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/727020750720448/ and can register for the event at the Eventbrite page at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/merrick...on-45031885582

The Facebook information page (i.e. if you don't want to register as a Re-enactor or HMV owner) is at https://www.facebook.com/Merrickvill...5559900773150/

Re-Enactors and HMV owners will receive free meals and have free access to all the events including the Friday night entertainment and Saturday night swing dance.

Military Venders are invited to set up tables at the fairgrounds free of charge.

Attached (hopefully) is the flyer for the 2018 Merrickville Liberation Festival.

Default Parking for floats?

Can I assume that there will be parking for truck and trailer for those bringing a vehicle in that way?

Default Concurrent activities

On Saturday 18 May one of the main organizers has laid on a road move from Merrickville to the railway museum in Smiths Falls and back in the afternoon. A distance of about 25km each way.

I will be out of town (a long ways out of town) that weekend. If any MLU'ers are interested, great! If any MLU'ers want to stand up and give the safety brief, even greater! I will provide the script.

In case you are discussing this event with your peer HMV owners in the Ottawa Valley, please spread the word.
