Default A little S & M on ebay?

I have to share this one with you. Right now on ebay under trench art a seller by the name of caat9tails has an auction:

"Trench art riding crop for camal or big hores"

Dave (alleramilitaria) is that your ebay handle? I think I recognize the spelling! ;>)

I guess a little B & D between consenting adults is alright with ebay, though they wouldn't let me list an M16 bayonet, a Kriegsmarine sports vest emblem, an M8 Flare gun, or blank .303 ammo!?!

Default Picky picky.....

EBay has been getting very restrictive in certain areas...

...and now to make things even worst for us abroad, is that some new regulation in the states scares the he** out of some long establish sellers ...... apparently they cannot sell "army surplus" to buyers from other countries.

Example AB LINN... long established seller of M37 parts will not accept bids for door handles, brake parts, seals, etc....for a Dodge M37... not exactly an item of mass des-truck-tion...... and this even with me using a mailing/shipping address from Upper NY as I have a registered home address in Ontario...... and I have been buying from him for years.... others are following suite it seems.

Guess I will have to get Phil Waterman to bid for me and make him an accomplice terrorist.....

Such is life.....

There needs to be a little common sense amongst the powers that be regarding import/export of harmless militaria for collectors. Last night on ABC news there was an expose about the vast amounts of commercial cargo that is carried on passenger airliners and that only about 10% of it is inspected! It was very telling to hear Gerald Arpey (C.E.O. of American Airlines) attempt to doublespeak his way out of that one! And of course, the vast numbers of containers that arrive on our shores are seldom inspected...but don't you try to export no door handles, you dang terroristical furriners!!!
I've now been waiting 6 weeks for an inert 2" mortar round I bought from an ebay seller from ol' Blighty...anyone willing to give odds that I'll ever see it? Anyone willing to give odds that I'm on some F.B.I. list for trying to import it? I thought not!

Default Should I reply or not.....

Hi Derek

...... knowing that you are probably black listed on the FBI I am really concerned about replying to your posting......NOT!!!!

It's the old penny wise dollar foolish attitude...... and we the collectors get to pay the dollar.

Maybe I will get myself a new EBay listing using a PO box in Ogdensburg, NY....

....ooopps better go now.....I hear knocking at the door and can see some flashing red lights......

Quite often the Special Terrorist Response teams will fly in to Lithgow and use the grounds of the Small Arms Factory for some Hostage release drama training. I worry when I see those Blackhawks and wonder if the men in black rapelling down ropes might be coming for me!

Default Latest from EBay

.... just came out.....

We will no longer be able to see who is bidding..... so a seller can have his brother in law drive up the price and get away with it.... so much for Privacy....... what's wrong with transparency...... next time I go to a public auction I will wear a balaclava, long cape and use crutches so as not to be noticed.......

Jordan,

Bob may be putting on weight, but that isn't a nice way of saying it.

PS - good artwork!

At least we all have a sense of humour. Some of us (me) tend to take things a bit toooo far somtimes.

I may or may not be sick that day for next CC

i just had 12 auctions zapped by ebay. they tell me that no item on ebay can have any NAZI markings on them. not at all!!!!
in a long letter i ask them about all the 98K parts, the items listed as "properly marked" like belt buckles, etc. also i brought up the fact that all the dragon 1/6th scale german uniforms have eagles on them. they even sold a motorbike with SS plates on it. funny thing is that repo german airforce items (no markings) are in the same catagory as 3K items. But you can buy org tolt uniforms on ebay due to the fact that they had nothing to do with the german government
