I think those horns should be standard fitment on all blitz's!!
Note to Rick Cove, does the emblem on the door look familiar?

Thanks for the photos Justin.

That one looks to be ex RAAF.

We have one on display over here in Perth WA. It came direct from RAAF Pearce.

Thanks Rich, guess I won't need to sand the door back to find out what is underneath now. This C60S was originally a No6 LAA Gun Tractor (Bofors) or if you like, Model WO-78.
Regards Rick

Default Re Ricks Pics

The first pic is the door, and if you enlarge it enough there is a similar emblem to the fire Blitz, showing under the paint near the left rusty bit, which was causing some conjecture only the other weekend.
Rich.

The front of this old bushfire truck shows an interesting history, since it,s a long way from home, its still in use by a farmer out western NSW.

Oh its of interest , but until he decides to part with his pride and joy, we sit back and wait, hopefully one day he,ll want some info or parts and we,ll get a foot in the door. He hasn,t wrecked it yet and he,s getting older, its still out there.

Oooh, a ffford? It must be a Welsh Stowage version.

So it is an F30? Thought I recognised those Ford Bolt heads!

Came across this one yesterday
While not a purpose built fire tender it has done quite a long bush fire service

Interesting that the unit at Penrith had canvas doors originally, been steel skinned at some time. The previous pic was of the old Woodstock Fire truck recently de comissioned but as yet unaltered in private hands, goes where the new Isusu won,t just take longer.

Taken at the COWRA FLY IN about 2000 just out of shot was a C15a with bush fire tank owned by J Toohey. Up to 70 vintage vehicles attended, also Steam engines running from Holmwood School. A great site running side by side down the highway.

Default This PJ served with Masterton Borough Council, NZ

We don't know if it was a weed sprayer or rural fire appliance.

Now saved for posterity. (ID numbers are on Daves listing)
