Default 90mm Cougar AVGP?

Came across this interesting photo on Ebay, being a Cougar fanatic of course I had to have it, arrived yesterday, seems to be a page from a brochure with the specs on the back for a 90mm armed AVGP Cougar...thought others might have some insight or at least find it interesting

Default Give 'em credit for trying

I wonder what the trajectory of the 90 is? With a keen eye, the vortex and base of the 76 is noticeable. Almost pathetic when the round isn't very fast.

I wondered if it was a DND sponsored effort to turn what was supposed to be a "tank trainer" into something with some teeth? Or if it was GM's in house idea to perhaps market the vehicle to other countries? Did anyone ever see one in the flesh? Wonder what happened to the prototypes?

Default 90mm AVGP Cougar FSV

This was a General Motors Defence Canada attempt to improve the "exportability" of the AVGP family. It's a completely new turret with the new gun.

While the 6x6 wasn't exported to any degree by GM Defence Canada, the CMI turret/gun combination was later sold to Saudi Arabia mounted on a GM Defence 8x8 platform. Quite an effective gun with a full range of ammunition and still in production today.
