Default Series 2 Land Rover Short Wheel Base Forward Area Ambulance Canvas Hoops

Hello All,

Just wondering whether anyone here is familiar with the positioning of the hoops to hold up the canvas cover surrounding the stretchers and how the hoops were attached the body of the Forward Area Ambulances?

I have been contacted by someone who is converting a Series 2 short wheel base Land Rover into a replica of an FAA. They are missing some finer details about placement of parts. I would appreciate your help so I can pass the information on.

There is a page about FFAs Accessed 14th February 2022 from, https://remlr.com/2afaa.php.

Kind regards
Lionel

Having a bit of familiarity with Land Rovers but none with Australian vehicles it looks from the pictures as is if the three normal hoop positions are used and I would suspect that the extension to the rear for the overhang is likely bolted in a similar fashion as to how the rest of it goes together.

The hoops themselves socket down through the body cappings and are flanged so that the flange rests on top of the opening but is also held down by a small plate that bolts to the capping.

I would suggest that they did not depart too far from what was easy and simple and already available.
