Default Unknown Carrier parts

Hi folks,
As my Mk1 is almost ready to make her debute, I am busy bolting on the last bits fromthe box of goodies that came with the carrier.

Some things have come to light:
The rear armour over the mufflers was never drilled to use the cable horns, the front armour glacis never had the horn or the shepard's crook bar fittings mounted, and it had a strange bracket mounted onthe engine frame just above the gas tank onthe gunner's side. I also have a handfull of CTL marked parts that I can NOT find in any of the three carrier parts manuals that I have.

I am also looking for one of the round brass disks on the shutter lever, if anyone has a spare to sell.

I have one original rubber grab handle for the panic bars for the gunner and had thopught to have copies made if there was any interest.

When I get finished, I will compile a list of my usable spares and post that.

Cheers,
Jim Burrill

Default When?

Jim,

Glad to hear that your Carrier is almost ready to go.

I cannot help you much with the placement of the MkI bits, but if you post a picture of the other parts, perhaps we could identify them with you.

Also, I have lost the address of the guy in the UK who fixed your choke cable for you. Could you reprint that for me?: My engine would appreciate it.

Default Figured it out ...

Hanno,

I have figured it out.

I was able to get into the site - I guess my Yahoo! access slipped, and they did not recognize me ( it happens to me a lot in real life also.)

Jim,

I have 2 questions for you:

1) Do you know if those guys in the UK can make supply longer cables? I am using a 2 barrel carb that is rotated 90 degrees from stock - and I am a little short on one end.

2) I would like an address ( e-mail or telephone ) for the Alan Coors museum. I read a glowing report about the open house there - and would like to know when the next one is. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks gentlemen.

Good to hear you found the info you were looking for anyway.

I'd love to go there one day, too! Here's a link to The Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles website where you can register.

Default I'M Great Now - Thanks

Hanno,

Thank you very much.

The link has got me a good phone number for the cable, and a sign up for the Coor's Museum. I read the report in the UK Military Machine International magazine, and it looks like a good spot to visit. : I only need to schedule a work event to get me down there.

Thanks again.

StewBud and others,

Geoff has just enabled access to the CMP mailing list archives for non-members. Have a look at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CMP/ and search the past messages - a gold mine of information!

Default WOW!

That Geoff has outdone himself this time!

All of that archival stuff is so great that I will probably spend the rest of the day looking though it. I suspect that the answer to every question I have will be found in that treasure trove of CMP stuff.

Thanks Geoff.
