Neat Tank Optics
Well I was going through my cold storage room in the basement, and under a tent I found 2 bits of German WW2 Optics I had bought sometime ago and forgot about, the first is a long artillery rangefinder, not the m34, but something a bit later and a bit odd, I cannot find one on the internet.
But the other is the interesting one. It is best described as heavy industrial, binos with 33 inch barrels from eye piece to end lens, it was suggested that they were Navy by one that knows more than myself about optics, but he had not seen them, well I could not find a makers name, so they have been sitting in my den for a week. There are 3 letters and below numbers and letters, so last night on a whim I searched the 3 letters, they are the Lientz company. I then searched the letters and numbers below..they came up This was made for only one German tank, when I saw what it was I did not believe it, I then found a site that had the "scales" for the said tank, mine matched, one side reads 88 the other MG Turns out this is the early model optics for the Tiger Tank!!! I am happy, now where is the rest of the tank?? Dean Ajax Ontario |

Tiger optics
I would send the Imperial War Museum photos and a description. They might really really need something for a rebuild, or know who does.

I don't know what I am going to do with it yet, I do like it, but it must be worth something, and the money from it would get me stuff that's closer to my collection
