Default Tight distributor

Hi All

I am helping to tune an L134 engine in a Willys Jeep. We came to a halt after loosening the nuts and trying to turn the distributor. However the distributor is well and trully stuck and will not move, we tried pulling it out and again no movement. I did not want to put any force on it, so I decided to put it you who have the knowledge and experience.

Can anyone suggest how I can get the distributor to move or how I can pull it out. I find it confusing as the vehicle is regularly used so it should not be rusted up like a long time unused engine sitting in a field. Or should I just leave it alone, like the old saying, " If it aint broke, don't fix it ".

Cheers

Tony
